Course Description
Stay current on what’s changing—and what’s creating risk—in accounting, financial reporting, and audit/attest. In Part 1, Jennifer Louis walks through recent FASB activity and the practical “so what” for financial statement prep and disclosure, including new and emerging guidance on interim reporting disclosures and events, government grants, and other timely standards affecting recognition, measurement, and presentation decisions.
Part 2 shifts to today’s Audit & Attest pressure points: what firms need to do in the first year of AICPA quality management implementation, how to manage risk across audit and non-audit services (including independence considerations), and where peer review findings commonly reveal breakdowns in SSARS-related engagements—especially documentation, reporting, and analytical procedures. You’ll leave with a clearer line of sight on compliance expectations and the habits that reduce rework, findings, and exposure.
