Course Description

This course examines the financial statement fraud that took place in two recent cases: high-profile law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf, LLP and Internet services reseller ContinuityX Solutions, Inc.  Both these cases involve financial statement fraud as well as auditor deception. We’ll first take a look at what happened, then examine possible motivating factors for the unethical conduct, determine how the auditor was deceived, and detail what lessons can be learned to help prevent similar activities from happening again.
