Course Description
The cost of quality is enormous, and can make the difference between industry-leading profits and sustained losses. In the Quality Management Fundamentals course, we describe the nature of quality, why it costs so much, and how to reduce that cost. The course covers a variety of topics, including total quality control, lean practices, process control, failure prevention, and root cause analysis. It also addresses supplier quality management and quality metrics. In short, this course is designed to give anyone a solid foundation in quality concepts and how to improve quality within a business.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- State how customers perceive quality.
- Specify the characteristics of kaizen.
- Describe the 14 points of management promulgated by William Edwards Deming.
- Identify the types of waste reduction used in a lean practices initiative.
- Specify how product audits are conducted.
