In today’s world, it is important that estate planning include contingencies for digital assets. This course defines what constitutes a digital asset and reviews important factors to consider when estate planning. Highlights include the importance of password protection and documentation, preparing an estate plan for digital assets, identifying and authorizing a fiduciary, and the current legal environment governing digital assets. Learn about the difficulties faced with digital ownership, management, and retrieval of digital assets as well some of the solutions for managing and protecting information from identify theft and hacking.
