There are a number of important financial concepts that you should be familiar with if you’re involved in real estate. This course provides a refresher of basic concepts and tools of accounting, finance, and math that real estate professionals – as well as real estate investors – need to know. Topics covered include balance sheets, income statements, basic accounting concepts, real estate algebra, finance math, and more.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Chapter 1
- Identify basic accounting concepts and procedures.
- Recognize basic financial statements, their purpose and components, and how real estate items are accounted for.
Chapter 2
- Recognize the methods of computing interest, basis points, discounting, APR, depreciation, stipulated amount payments, mortgage payoffs, add-on interest, and income capitalization.
- Calculate area measurement, volume measurement, and front foot calculations.
