Course Description
One of the most common questions in seminars is, ‘Where do I go to find the guidance for that?’ In this course, Jeff Sailor will walk you through exactly how to find the answers to most all your accounting and reporting questions. This is a very detailed descriptive course which will show actual steps to find answers through authoritative, free internet sources. Areas of research will include accounting, both GAAP and special purpose frameworks, reporting at various levels of assurance, quality control, and ethics. In addition, Jeff will bring his truly unique presentation style and include a few humorous extras designed to keep you awake and reinforce the material.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the sources of authoritative accounting guidance for GAAP and Special Purpose Frameworks
- Identify the sources of authoritative reporting guidance for preparations, compilations, reviews, audits and SSAE engagements
- Identify the sources of authoritative guidance for ethics and quality control
- Cite various online research techniques for accounting, reporting, quality control, and ethics requirements

Course Instructor

Jeff Sailor, CPA, received a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Florida. Upon graduation, he joined the auditing staff at Peat Marwick in Jacksonville, Florida, where he worked on a large number of national accounts. Jeff has managed his own accounting firm in Ocala, Florida, since 1984. During that time, he has also developed unique auditing approaches and auditing software. Since 1992, Jeff has been teaching accounting and auditing courses he developed to combat traditional “boring CPE.” Using a variety of creative teaching methods sprinkled with humorous video spoofs, Jeff is able to combine his in-depth accounting insights …
