Course Description
Marijuana is federally illegal, but it may be legal in your state. Hemp and CBD are legal, but only sometimes. This course will discuss the various forms of cannabis and how they are treated at the federal level and state level. We will share legislative updates and what the future may hold for these various forms of cannabis. This course will discuss the conflict between state and federal law, the risk in operating under State legal marijuana regimes, and when cannabis is still a Class I controlled substance at the federal level. You will learn how to think about the risk/reward in this bifurcated regulatory landscape.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the difference between State laws and Federal laws as it relates to cannabis.
- Understand the difference between marijuana, hemp, and CBD.
- Understand the United States regulatory landscape as it applies to marijuana, hemp, and CBD, and the potential risk in transacting business associated with each.
