Course Description

This Virginia-approved ethics CPE course gives CPAs a practical review of the professional standards that govern ethical conduct in both public practice and industry. It covers the core principles of the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct—responsibilities, public interest, integrity, objectivity, independence, due care, and scope and nature of services—while also examining how those principles apply in real-world situations involving conflicts of interest, nonattest services, gifts and entertainment, competence, confidentiality, and the preparation and reporting of financial information.

The CPE webcast also highlights enforcement examples and recent ethics interpretations and modifications affecting practice, including fee dependency, recruiting assistance, Section 529 plan interests, quality management terminology, simultaneous employment or association with attest clients, and proposed tax services guidance. Designed for busy accounting professionals, it focuses on identifying threats, evaluating their significance, applying safeguards, and protecting both professional judgment and public trust.
