Tom Prieto, CPA, MBT

Tom Prieto has over twenty-five years of public accounting experience serving small-size businesses and individuals in Los Angeles. Furthermore, he has over a decade of experience as a college accounting instructor, where he mentored students in the accounting profession. He is a graduate of California State University, Northridge, and the University of Southern California, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Business Taxation. His numerous tax articles have appeared in Practical Tax Strategies and the Journal of Accountancy. He has been part of the tax technical content team at the AICPA, developing, editing, and reviewing professional education courses for members. Recently, Tom developed and presented an eight-hour course for the AICPA on Blockchain and Taxation. He’s also a public speaker presenting such topics as the taxation of virtual currency and Big Tax Data.
