Taxpayer First Act of 2019

On July 1 , 2019. President Trump signed the new Taxpayer First Act (TFA) into law. TFA provides the first significant taxpayer rights enhancement since 1998. The Act is designed to strengthen taxpayer rights, particularly with appeals, enhance customer service (long-term), improve information technology and cybersecurity, protect and encourage more whistle-blowing, and improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of the IRS.
