Course Description
In this class on SECURE 2.0, Lawrence Pon, CPA/PFS, CFP, EA, USTCP, AEP, will cover the House-passed Securing a Strong Retirement Act of 2022 (HR 2954). The legislation was approved in the House on March 29, 2022. Currently, the Senate is considering the House’s measure in combination with its own SECURE 2.0 legislation. This class will take you through everything you need to know about how the House bill builds upon the SECURE Act of 2019 and proposes further enhancements to retirement savings.
Learning Objectives

- Expanding automatic enrollment in retirement plans
- Indexing IRA catch-limit
- Higher catch-up limit to apply at 62, 63, 64
- Increase in age for required beginning date for mandatory distributions

Mr. Pon has been in practice since 1986 and enjoys helping his clients reach their financial goals. He frequently speaks on tax and financial planning topics to tax professionals, financial advisors, and the general public nationally. Mr. Pon received his BS in Business Administration with emphases in Accounting and Finance from the University of California, Berkeley and MS in Taxation from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
