This seminar will provide a summary of recent and prospective accounting and auditing standards, applicable to governments.  We will also participate in discussion questions and case studies to enhance your awareness and understanding of the related implementation issues. Primary topics include:

  • Guidance provided by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) + a summary of the New 2018 Yellow Book / Governmental Auditing Standards
  • All recently-issued GASBs (accounting standards)
  • The effect on Governmental entities of the wide-spread Government Spending Disorder (GSD)

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Review & discuss all of the most recent standards issued for accounting, financial reporting & auditing governmental entities.
