Course Description

‘Failing to plan is planning to fail.’  And yet you can’t achieve your goals unless you actually have identified your goals.  Whether you are in public, private, not-for-profit, government, or retired – everyone has goals they want to achieve and achieve faster!  Strategic planning doesn’t have to be a dreaded chore – if you make it simple and straight-forward. This course will discuss the qualities of strategic thinking and strategic positioning.  We will describe several methods for creating a strategic plan including Keep/Stop/Start, Backcasting, and One-Page Planning. We will practice defining your ideal customer, identifying opportunities and threats, conduct a competitive analysis, and defining your unique value proposition.
