One of the CPA’s most important responsibilities is in understanding how critically important ethical behavior is to one another, our customers, and to the public. This course discusses the basic tenets of ethical behavior and uses case studies to explore ethical dilemmas in various companies and organizations. The instructor provides standards of conduct and then applies those standards to the real world.
*Note: This course contains material from Frank Ryan's 2 credit ethics course 'Revised CPA Ethics Code: Challenges You May Soon Face.' Credit cannot be given for both of these ethics courses. We will allow credit for one or the other.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify and understand critical thinking errors as they relate to ethical dilemmas
- Understand the professional code of ethics and conduct
- Understand the new AICPA Ethics Codification
- Examine the impact of ethical and unethical conduct on our profession
