Course Description

Many businesses do not need GAAP. In addition, there are many “big picture” issues in accounting that go “beyond GAAP”. This course will examine the variety of other legitimate options available, which are referred to in the professional standards as Special Purpose Frameworks (SPFs). Accounting expert Jeff Sailor will look at the traditional SPFs (cash, modified cash, and tax) in light of recent events and will also cover IFRS-SME and FRF-SME. To put things in perspective, Jeff will also discuss what makes financial statements useful. In addition, reporting issues and peer review pitfalls will also be discussed. This course is perfect for any CPA who works with small and medium-sized companies who do not need GAAP.
