Course Description

The pace of technology change shows no signs of slowing down. Blockchain, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, mobile applications, hardware innovations, software updates, and security risks are all issues that you must stay on top of or risk falling behind in an ultra-competitive environment. In this session, you will learn about key developments in the world of technology as these relate to accounting, financial, and business environments. Designed for today's business professional, this session is more than just a discussion of what's new. Instead, the focus is on practical examples and applications of key technologies, including discussions of which technologies you

should consider adopting and which ones might not yet be ready for prime time. Just as accounting and financial professionals need to stay abreast of changes in accounting pronouncements, auditing standards, and tax laws, so too must they stay on top of technology, and there may be no better way of doing so than by participating in this course.

Highlights include:

  • Key software updates and releases, including Windows, Microsoft Office, and Office 365
  • What's new with end-user hardware, including computers, printers, scanners, and mobile devices
  • Strategies for managing personal and team technology
  • Security essentials
  • Emerging technologies, including blockchain and artificial intelligence
