James S. Sagner, PhD, CCM, CMC

James S. Sagner, PhD, CCM, CMC, is with the School of Business of the University of Bridgeport (CT) teaching MBA-level courses in finance and international business. He’s a senior principal of Sagner/Marks and of Bank Credit Training Partners. He also teaches in the University of North Carolina’s Executive Development program. He has managed over 250 large-scale studies for global organizations and is recognized as an expert in financial management and economic analysis. His clients have included financial service and manufacturing companies. Previously, he was with was with the First National Bank of Chicago (now J.P. Morgan Chase); A. T. Kearney, financial and economic consultants; and served as chief economist of the Maryland Department of Transportation.

James is the author of 8 books and some 60 papers and articles that have appeared in various publications. His most recent books include Handbook of Corporate Lending (2011, with Herbert Jacobs) and Essentials of Working Capital Management (2010). Among his other 6 books is Cashflow Reengineering (1997), named as one of the 100 most important finance books ever published. James has been honored as a Rockefeller Fellow and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma.
