    • Recognize and apply the basic concepts of estate planning.
    • Distinguish between methods of transferring wealth after death, and identify direct transfers, various ownership methods, and how controlling instruments may be used.
    • Utilize and explain to clients the three rules that will be used to build an estate plan, and make the best use of the charitable deduction, marital deduction, and lifetime exclusion, in combination, given various client situations.
    • Describe the characteristics and limitations of the “I Love You” will, and two ways this will is often modified for better estate planning.
