Refund, Return, & Cancellation Policies


Self-Study Orders–Refunds and Returns

Western CPE offers a 100% money-back guarantee (minus shipping) on all self-study orders returned within 30 days of the date of purchase. Simply call us at (800) 822-4194 to arrange your return or exchange. Items must be returned in new, resalable condition. Any software (CD or DVD) that comes packaged with a book must be unopened and sealed in order to receive a refund.

Resort Conference Cancellation Policy and Penalties

If a conference registration is canceled, credit can be applied to an ensuing conference with no penalty; however, all days paid for in a calendar year, for example 2010, must be used in 2010. Unused days cannot be carried over to future years.

  • Cancellations received 30+ days prior to the conference: $50
  • Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the conference: $100
If a credit has been on account with Western CPE for over a year (the year starts when your money goes on your account as a credit, not when you originally registered), you can request a refund; however, a $100 administrative fee will be charged.

Federal Tax Update Cancellation Policy and Penalties

Live Seminars: Registrants who cancel 30 days or more in advance will be refunded fees minus a $50 cancellation fee. Registrants who cancel less than 30 days in advance will be charged a $100 cancellation fee. Registrants may switch seminar sites at no cost or substitute a Federal Tax Update Webcast for a seminar at no cost. If a credit has been on account with Western CPE for over a year (the year starts when your money goes on your account as a credit, not when you originally registered), you can request a refund; however, a $100 administrative fee will be charged.

Webcasts: Registrants who cancel 3 days or more in advance will be refunded fees minus a $50 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given less than 3 days prior to the Webcast. Registrants may transfer their registration to another Federal Tax Update Webcast in the same calendar year or substitute a Federal Tax Update Webcast for a seminar at no cost.

If you fail a Federal Tax Update Webcast, you will not receive a refund; however, you may attend another Federal Tax Update Webcast and receive a 25% discount for the day(s) you failed. Western CPE will make every effort to award a reasonable and fair makeup Webcast, at no additional charge. "Failure" means you failed to verify your attendance 70% of the time (75% of the time for California participants). If there is not another Federal Tax Update Webcast available within the same calendar year, you may apply the 25% discount to any other Webcast within the year of your original Webcast. Please call (800) 822-4194 to schedule your makeup Webcast and to set up your discount. This offer does not apply toward attending a live Federal Tax Update Seminar.

4 Credit Live Seminars: Registrants who cancel 30 days or more in advance will be refunded fees minus a $25 cancellation fee. Registrants who cancel less than 30 days in advance will be charged a $50 cancellation fee. Registrants may switch seminar sites at no cost or substitute a Webcast version of the course at no cost. If a credit has been on account with Western CPE for over a year (the year starts when your money goes on your account as a credit, not when you originally registered), you can request a refund; however, a $50 administrative fee will be charged.

8 Credit Live Seminars: Registrants who cancel 30 days or more in advance will be refunded fees minus a $50 cancellation fee. Registrants who cancel less than 30 days in advance will be charged a $100 cancellation fee. Registrants may switch seminar sites at no cost or substitute a Webcast version of the course at no cost. If a credit has been on account with Western CPE for over a year (the year starts when your money goes on your account as a credit, not when you originally registered), you can request a refund; however, a $50 administrative fee will be charged.

Corporate & Group Solutions Cancellation Policies and Penalties

Cancellation policy for the Group Affiliate Program and the Corporate Program:

If a group cancels a group registration 30 days or more prior to a seminar, Webcast, or resort conference, the prepaid group registration fees will be refunded minus a $50 cancellation fee, per person. If a group cancellation is made less than 30 days in advance, the cancellation fee is $100 per person.

As an alternative to cancellation, full credit for individual attendees can be applied to a future order or registration; or an attendee can substitute a Webcast for a live seminar of comparable cost. A full credit also can be applied to a substitute attendee within your organization, if desired.

For all Custom Ordered Group Programs, including but not limited to Custom Training Solutions–seminars, Webcasts, self-study programs or products, conference events, retreats, instructor-led (In-house Training) and custom IT solutions–the contractual agreements will set forth cancellation fees, where applicable.

Group Affiliate cancellation policy for individual members:

If a Group Affiliate member cancels 30 days or more prior to a seminar, Webcast, or resort conference, the prepaid discounted registration will be refunded minus a $50 cancellation fee. If a cancellation is made less than 30 days in advance, the cancellation fee is $100.

If a Group Affiliate member cancels a resort conference registration, full credit can be applied to a future order or registration with no penalty; the exception being a customized conference event or retreat.

As an alternative to cancellation, attendees may switch to another comparably priced seminar or substitute a comparably priced Webcast for a live seminar at no additional cost.

Cancellation policy for Organizations participating in the Group Affiliate or Corporate Program:

Western CPE's Corporate & Group Solutions Corporate Program and Group Affiliate Program are based on a 12-month term of agreement. Please refer to the Notice and Termination section of your contract for specifics.

Cancellation policy for Custom Training Solutions:

Western CPE's Corporate & Group Solutions Custom Training Solutions contracts will specify the terms and conditions, including cancellation fees, which are relevant to the scope of customized services agreed upon in the contract. All costs incurred, along with cancellation fees, will be due and payable upon any cancellation.

In-house Training Cancellation, Rescheduling, and Book Return Policies:

If you cancel an In-house Training engagement or Elite 400 Series Keynote presentation, you will be responsible for 100% of event minimum ($4,000), instructor travel, materials production, and shipping costs already incurred.

If you reschedule a confirmed In-house Training engagement at any time, the rescheduling fee will be $750 plus any change-in-travel fees required to accommodate the new date. This fee is in addition to standard training engagement costs or minimums.

If weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances require the cancellation of a seminar, Western CPE will make every effort to reschedule the same seminar for another date. Western CPE does not assume financial responsibility for travel expenses incurred by client staff or instructors due to course cancellation.

Book returns: Western CPE In-house Training does not maintain an inventory of course materials–most programs are customized and, as such, unused participant materials that have been ordered cannot be returned for credit.
