Diagnostic Analytic Procedures

This course will focus on the information that can be derived from the results of performing trend and ratio analyses. We will review the requirements of Statement of Auditing Standards Nos. 56, 59, and 99. We will also examine the use of analytical procedure requirements outlined in Statement of Auditing Standards Nos. 56, 59, and 99 from the perspective of the operations manager and business owner. Additionally, we will work with several ratio procedures available to not-for-profit organizations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the auditing standards as well as analytical procedure requirements outlined in Statement of Auditing Standards Nos. 56, 59, and 99 as they apply to the operations manager or business owner.
  • Perform a trend and ratio analysis.
  • Define the users of analytical procedures.
  • Identify the uses of analytical procedures.
  • Analyze and review analytical procedures from an operations perspective.
  • Develop a method to effectively communicate the findings of an analysis.
