“The Big Easy” is bigger and easier than ever! The French Quarter is the heart and cultural center of New Orleans. It’s a must-see for its high energy, rich history, diverse architecture, music, street performers, renowned jazz clubs, lively nightlife, and the finest art galleries and restaurants in the city.
Experience New Orleans jazz, which has a distinct swinging, stomping, syncopated beat that will make you want to dance. Great rhythm and blues, Cajun, zydeco, and gospel music also keep visitors rocking day and night.
This enticing city is also known for its distinctive Creole and Cajun cuisine, including beignets, café au lait, shrimp po-boys, muffulettas, red beans and rice, gumbo, grilled oysters, bread pudding, and crème brûlée. You can’t go wrong at eateries like Brennan’s, Emeril’s, Galatoire’s, or the Besh Steakhouse.
New Orleans is filled with shopping options for nearly every taste and budget. A few blocks from the French Quarter is the Riverwalk Mall that offers upscale clothing stores, gift shops, and restaurants. For a more unique experience that truly captures the essence of New Orleans, head to the French Market for its diverse, fun selection.
Mule-drawn carriage rides, paddleboat cruises on the Mississippi, people-watching from wrought-iron balconies along Bourbon Street, six miles of shops and cafés along Magazine Street, high-speed airboat rides through the swamps, and strolls through fascinating aboveground cemeteries—this and more await you in New Orleans.
